4. Report on overflow counts, otherwise you do not see if staffing is structurally short.

Overflow happens daily as the norm, not the exception: that is a capacity problem, not a routing problem.

1. Set up time-of-day schedules per number or per queue.

1. Pick a royalty-free music library, for example a PBX vendor licence or music-as-a-service provider.
2. Alternate your own recorded company message with instrumental loops, not vocals.
3. Test volume and compression, the phone line cuts a lot of low and high frequencies.
4. Do not stream radio as hold music, even 'just in the background', that is a real licence issue.
