Buying headsets without a clear picture of who calls how much
Heavy callers (sales, support) need a different headset than occasional callers. You do not need to buy everyone the top model, but do not skimp on people on the line all day.
Try this first
- 1Heavy callers: wired or DECT with dual-ear, ANC mic, busylight (Jabra Engage, Poly Voyager Focus, EPOS Impact)
- 2Occasional callers: a light USB headset or the existing phone earbuds are usually fine
- 3Travellers: Bluetooth multipoint so they can switch between laptop and phone
- 4Plan replacement at three to four years, ear cushions and cables fail before the electronics
When to bring us in
On hearing complaints or headaches: get the H&S coordinator to review volume-limit settings and break routines, not just the model.
