Customer or authority still faxes, physical fax box is in the way

Fax over IP via T.38 is usually flaky. An eFax service (mail-to-fax and fax-to-mail) is normally steadier and removes the box.

Try this first

  1. 1List who still faxes: care, some government desks, older notaries
  2. 2Pick an eFax provider that ports your existing fax number (otherwise your listing breaks)
  3. 3Set up a shared mailbox to receive inbound faxes, route to the right person
  4. 4Mothball the device for a month before disposing, in case late faxes arrive

When to bring us in

For sectors with a fax requirement in law or contract, first check whether a PDF-by-mail attachment is also accepted. That saves a whole service.
