Take a 0900 premium-rate number for an SMB or not?
A 0900 is a premium-rate number where the caller pays extra per minute or per call. For SMB rarely the right choice: caller perception is negative and compliance is strict.
Try this first
- 1Get clear why you want a 0900, often an 088 with good routing is enough.
- 2Know ACM tariff rules: announce the rate before the call starts.
- 3Estimate caller cost vs 088 which is normal rate.
- 4Consider an alternative: 088 plus a separate paid transaction.
When to bring us in
Real use case for 0900 (info line with limited capacity, paid support on a specific product): walk through with telco plus legal, do not pick on margins alone.
