DECT is more robust for pure voice with its own network stack. Wi-Fi handsets use office Wi-Fi and are cheaper, but Wi-Fi roaming is demanding and you share the path with laptops.
Try this first
- 1For warehouse, retail, production: DECT, Wi-Fi roaming is hard to keep stable there.
- 2For office with good AP density and few handsets: Wi-Fi can work, as long as 802.11r/k/v are on.
- 3Separate Wi-Fi handset requirements from laptop requirements: WPA2-Enterprise or a separate SSID with good roaming.
- 4Test with a handset that walks, not one that stays at a desk.
