Company mobile plan or reimbursement on a personal phone?
Both work. BYOD is tax-simple and cheap but gives less grip on offboarding and MDM. Company plan gives control, costs more, needs admin.
Try this first
- 1Company plan: number on the KvK, MDM policy possible, hand out or collect on hire/leave
- 2BYOD with untaxed allowance: private plan, fixed monthly allowance via payroll, MDM via work profile (Android) or user enrollment (iOS)
- 3Hybrid: company plan on the work profile, personal on the personal profile, one device
- 4Document the choice in employment terms, otherwise expect friction on departure
When to bring us in
In sectors with strict data rules (healthcare, finance), BYOD without MDM is usually not defensible. Choose company or hybrid.
