WhatsApp Business works well next to a phone line if you manage expectations. Either via the free Business app for one phone, or via Cloud API/BSP for team use.

Try this first

  1. 1Decide: one mobile with the Business app, or a team inbox via a BSP (Trengo, Sleekflow, 360dialog).
  2. 2Do not run the same number as WhatsApp and primary phone in the same app, it conflicts.
  3. 3Set hours and auto-reply clearly or customers expect 24/7 response.
  4. 4Retention and GDPR: chats fall under the same retention as other customer communication.
