Pick 3CX or Microsoft Teams Phone as main telephony.
Teams Phone makes sense if you already use Microsoft 365 and want collaboration and calling fused. 3CX is cheaper per user and has stronger call-centre features (queues, wallboard), but stands outside M365 identity.
Try this first
- 1Check the licence stack: M365 E3/E5 with Teams Phone add-on may beat standalone 3CX.
- 2Weigh call-centre needs: queues, wallboard, supervisor tools are stronger in 3CX.
- 3Mobile app and chat: Teams is integrated, 3CX has its own app.
- 4Pick based on who runs it: Teams under M365 admin, 3CX under telecom-oriented admin.
When to bring us in
On the fence: run one team on Teams Phone and one on 3CX, decide on real usability not blog posts.
