Once a week mail suddenly arrives with delay across the board

Often a secondary MX record that is slow or unreliable. Sending servers fall back there when the primary briefly stutters.

Try this first

  1. 1List your MX records and note the priorities. Two equal MXes is usually not what you want.
  2. 2Keep one primary MX on low priority and only use a fallback MX you know works and serves the same mailbox.
  3. 3Test the fallback by temporarily blocking the primary in a test setup, not production.
  4. 4Remove old, forgotten MX records from a previous provider; that is a frequent cause.

When to bring us in

Changing MX records means editing DNS at your registrar or provider. New territory? Ask us; this is exactly where one slip costs you a day of mail silence.
