We want automatic eco-printing without enabling it each time
Eco mode combines lower toner use (roughly 25% less), duplex by default, and N-up. For an average SMB it saves thousands per year with no visible quality loss on internal docs.
Try this first
- 1Enable toner-save / eco-print at the MFP level via web admin. That's the baseline saving.
- 2Make duplex (two-sided) the driver default. Via GPO or Intune for Windows, via printer profile for macOS.
- 3For internal docs: expose '2-up' (two pages per sheet) as an option in the print dialog. Not forced default, users must choose.
- 4Test that contract templates and invoices still look acceptable in eco mode. External docs you often want on normal.
- 5Communicate once: 'eco mode is on, no visible difference on internal docs, for client letters one click switches to normal'.
When to bring us in
We roll this out in half a day including contract/invoice template testing. Ask us along if driver choice (V3 or V4) is unclear, it depends on your Windows version.
