Scanner no longer sends emails (scan-to-email)

Almost always: the account the scanner uses had its password expire, or the mail provider blocks old protocols.

Try this first

  1. 1Ask IT which email account the scanner uses. Test whether you can send a message manually with it.
  2. 2Microsoft 365 has "SMTP basic auth" disabled for new tenants; old scanners stop working there. Needs OAuth or an SMTP relay.
  3. 3Account password expired? Renew, and update in the scanner settings.
  4. 4Mail seems to send but never arrives: check the recipient's spam folder and the domain reputation. Scanners are a classic spoof vector.

When to bring us in
