Printer suddenly not found
For everyone at once: print server or network. For one person: local Windows driver or expired authorisation.
Try this first
- 1Ask a colleague to print the same document. Works for them? Your machine is the cause.
- 2Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers. See the printer? Remove and add again via "Add device".
- 3Have a print server? Ask IT whether it has been restarted. Queues sometimes block each other.
- 4Test the printer's IP in your browser (type http://printer-ip). Status page? The printer is on and on the network; then it is Windows-side.
When to bring us in
Driver and print-server work is finicky; 30 minutes from us usually saves you half a day of puzzling. Call if it has taken longer than an hour.
