Tax office asks for a POS export, how to deliver?

The Dutch tax office can ask for an audit file (XAF) or a flat export per day. Cloud POS usually has this in admin. Retention is 7 years, you must be able to deliver within reasonable time.

Try this first

  1. 1Ask your POS vendor for XAF or CSV exports per quarter.
  2. 2Keep exports together with Z reports and bank statements.
  3. 3Once a year, test pulling a random past day's data.
  4. 4On an audit request, deliver via your accountant, not directly.

When to bring us in

If your POS cannot export properly, have your accountant request an extension and plan a POS upgrade.
