Have VPN connect automatically at startup
Forgetting to connect before opening mail and being surprised you have no access. Auto-connect fixes that.
Try this first
- 1Open your VPN client and look for "start with Windows" or "auto-connect on launch".
- 2Enable it and quit the client fully. Test at the next reboot.
- 3Want VPN to connect outside the office automatically too? Enable "connect on untrusted network" if available.
- 4Combine with remembering MFA for 8 or 12 hours if your policy allows.
When to bring us in
Option missing or locked? We can roll out "always-on VPN" via policy on all company laptops.
