Camera on or off when joining a meeting

Small etiquette point with big impact. Depends on the meeting type and your network condition.

Try this first

  1. 1Mute on entry: always. Otherwise the meeting starts with your noise.
  2. 2Camera in a big meeting (10+ attendees): off unless you are speaking.
  3. 3In a 1-on-1 or small team: camera on.
  4. 4Do not feel obliged to be on camera constantly if your network is bad; audio-only is fine.
