Switching headset mid-call does not go smoothly
Bluetooth headset re-pairs, or the meeting stays stuck on the old mic. Small detail, big annoyance.
Try this first
- 1Connect your new headset first, then switch the input in Teams or Zoom. Not the other way around.
- 2In the meeting open audio settings (often a chevron next to the mic button) and explicitly pick the new device.
- 3Avoid mid-call swaps between Bluetooth and USB; those cause drop-outs.
- 4Prefer a wired USB headset for calls; Bluetooth for listening.
