Two monitors via dock will not both work

Dual-monitor via a single dock often comes down to the right port, drivers, and display mode.

Try this first

  1. 1Swap the two monitor cables on the dock. One port may work better than the other.
  2. 2Check that both monitors use HDMI or both DisplayPort; mixing often causes issues.
  3. 3In Windows: right-click desktop > display settings > "detect".
  4. 4Fully disconnect the dock (unplug USB-C), wait 10 seconds, reconnect.
  5. 5Update the dock driver via the manufacturer if one monitor stays black.
