Paper jam in scanner or multifunctional
Stuck sheets in the feeder (ADF) or duplexer. No force, and check where the actual gap is before moving on.
Try this first
- 1Power off the device before reaching in, so rollers do not restart while your hand is inside.
- 2Open ALL covers (top, ADF lid, side panels). Remove every shred; leftover scraps cause the next jam instantly.
- 3Pull sheets out IN the direction of paper flow. Pulling against it tears the page.
- 4Wipe the feed rollers gently with a damp cloth. Dust and old ink make them slick.
- 5Was the paper crinkled or damp? Use fresh paper, not the top of the printer tray; the top sheet is often the culprit.
When to bring us in
Repeated jams in the same tray: worn rollers or a faulty sensor. That is for the printer vendor; we can advise on whether to repair or replace.
