Paper jam in scanner or multifunctional

Stuck sheets in the feeder (ADF) or duplexer. No force, and check where the actual gap is before moving on.

Try this first

  1. 1Power off the device before reaching in, so rollers do not restart while your hand is inside.
  2. 2Open ALL covers (top, ADF lid, side panels). Remove every shred; leftover scraps cause the next jam instantly.
  3. 3Pull sheets out IN the direction of paper flow. Pulling against it tears the page.
  4. 4Wipe the feed rollers gently with a damp cloth. Dust and old ink make them slick.
  5. 5Was the paper crinkled or damp? Use fresh paper, not the top of the printer tray; the top sheet is often the culprit.

When to bring us in

Repeated jams in the same tray: worn rollers or a faulty sensor. That is for the printer vendor; we can advise on whether to repair or replace.
