First page takes ages, the rest prints normally
Almost always a sleep-mode setting or a Wi-Fi printer that has to wake up.
Try this first
- 1Print two pages quickly in a row: only the first slow? Deep sleep mode.
- 2Find 'sleep mode' or 'power saving' in the printer menu and raise the timer (try 30 minutes instead of 5).
- 3Wi-Fi printer? Move it to ethernet if you can. Wi-Fi re-association costs 10-20 seconds.
- 4Working from home via VPN? The job goes through the tunnel first, which explains the first-page delay.
When to bring us in
Reception or front-desk where first-page speed matters? We can help pick between cabling and a different model. Service on the printer itself goes through your vendor.
