Payslips and HR docs still get left on the printer too often
Pull-printing (also 'follow-me' or 'secure release') only prints when the user is at the device and authenticates. Every MFP vendor has it, or you do it via PaperCut, Equitrac, or Microsoft Universal Print Secure Release.
Try this first
- 1Pick the identifier: badge, PIN, or mobile app. For HR and finance, badge is most usable and best for audit.
- 2Make pull-printing default for one department (HR or finance), not the whole company at once. Reduces pushback.
- 3Set retention: jobs not picked up in 4 or 8 hours auto-cancel. Otherwise they pile up.
- 4Communicate what happens to cancelled jobs and what gets logged. Auditors want to know who printed what.
- 5Pilot with a trusted HR person before full rollout. Pull-print mistakes on payslip day are painful.
When to bring us in
If you handle privacy-sensitive docs daily (HR, legal, healthcare), pull-printing isn't optional anymore. Get us to weigh vendor features, PaperCut, or Universal Print Secure Release for your case.
