Everyone forgets to set duplex, paper use is creeping up
Duplex should be the driver default, not an option people pick every time. Saves paper and money instantly.
Try this first
- 1Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers > click the printer > 'Printing preferences'.
- 2Find 'Print on both sides' or 'Duplex', set to 'On' (long edge for normal documents).
- 3Save. Test with a two-page Word file.
- 4Have a print server? It needs to be set centrally; local changes only affect your machine.
When to bring us in
For 5+ machines doing this manually is wasteful. We push a GPO or Intune policy so duplex is the default everywhere. One morning of work, years of effect.
