A4 prints on A3 or vice versa, tray message keeps coming back

Almost always: the document is set to A3 or the driver is pointed at the wrong tray. The printer is doing what it was told.

Try this first

  1. 1Open the document > File > Page Setup. A4 or A3? Adjust and save.
  2. 2At print time: hit 'Properties' or 'Preferences' and pick the correct tray explicitly.
  3. 3Getting 'load A4 in tray 1' while A4 is loaded? The printer thinks it is A3. Open the tray, push the paper guides snug against the stack, close. It re-measures.
  4. 4Mixed-format offices: put a sticker with the size on each tray. Sounds simple, kills most of these issues.
