We want to know when our mail is reported as spam
A feedback loop (FBL) delivers an ARF report (RFC 5965) per spam complaint with original headers. Microsoft (JMRP), Yahoo and Comcast have FBLs, Gmail doesn't (it reports aggregate via Postmaster Tools). Registration is per ESP or per IP/domain, not automatic.
Try this first
- 1Microsoft: register for JMRP via sender.office.com/jmrp. Verify ownership of the IP range.
- 2Yahoo: register via Yahoo Sender Hub (senders.yahooinc.com).
- 3Gmail: use Postmaster Tools (postmaster.google.com). No per-mail FBL, but daily spam rate per domain.
- 4Route ARF reports to a dedicated mailbox or a tool that updates suppression lists automatically (Postmark, SendGrid, Mailgun do this out of the box).
- 5Act on complaints right away: remove the reporter from the list, otherwise complaint ratio keeps climbing.
When to bring us in
If you send via an ESP, the ESP is already registered with the FBLs. Ask what FBL data you can pull via the ESP API instead of registering again.
