VPN slow abroad, file transfers take ages
Further from the VPN server means more latency. And some countries throttle encrypted traffic.
Try this first
- 1Test without VPN first: speedtest.net. Then compare with VPN on.
- 2Pick the nearest server in the client, not always the "home" one.
- 3Switch to UDP if available; often faster than TCP over long distances.
- 4Work on large files offline and batch-sync them later.
