Employee wants fiber installed for home work.
In NL many addresses are connected by KPN or Open Dutch Fiber. Activation takes 4-8 weeks from request, longer if the street is not yet trenched. Do not plan tight deadlines.
Try this first
- 1Postcode check on the relevant network site (klantnaarglasvezel.nl is a good independent one).
- 2Order via a provider (XS4ALL, Freedom, Online.nl, KPN), not directly via the network operator.
- 3If the employer reimburses the monthly bill, write it down, it has tax implications (see next entry).
- 4Plan an install date when someone is home, usually a 4-hour window so no morning standups.
When to bring us in
Address has no fiber prospect short-term: 4G/5G fixed internet is a good interim, KPN and T-Mobile offer it with unlimited data.

- VPN connects but corporate folders are unreachableConnection says "green" but your network drives will not open. Almost always a DNS or routing issue.
- Home PC slow on VPN, fast at the officeThree suspects: home internet, VPN server limits, or routing that takes a long detour.
