Everyone scans to email, they want it straight to their own OneDrive
Personal OneDrive scan requires per-user authentication on the MFP. Works on modern HP, Canon, Ricoh, Konica Minolta and Xerox via OAuth, when tied to Entra ID.
Try this first
- 1Enable per-user login on the MFP, with badge or PIN linked to Entra ID. Otherwise the MFP doesn't know whose OneDrive to write to.
- 2Configure the OneDrive connector in the MFP app store or firmware. Once per device, not per user.
- 3Test first with one user who grants OAuth consent. Sometimes the admin in Entra has to approve app permission before others can.
- 4Agree where scans land: 'OneDrive/Scans' is a safe default. Not the root, OneDrive fills with clutter fast.
- 5Tell users scan-to-OneDrive also fills their OneDrive quota. Matters for heavy photo scans.
When to bring us in
First setup needs Entra admin consent and some MFP firmware work. Half a day plus a short briefing, then the whole org is migrated.
