Can I use cheaper third-party or refill toner?
Short answer: never on cost-per-page contracts. On your own printer with light use, sometimes, with risks.
Try this first
- 1Own printer, light use (a few hundred prints a month)? A reputable third-party brand can save 30-50%.
- 2Heavy printing or colour-critical work? Stick with originals. Colour consistency and drum wear are unpredictable on third-party.
- 3Contract printer (cost-per-page, leasing)? Read the terms; many contracts void on non-OEM toner, and the whole unit can become your liability.
- 4Refill (refilling cartridges) is a different beast from third-party; much higher risk of leaks and drum damage. Not recommended for laser.
When to bring us in
Doubt about contracts or which brand to pick? We do the math with you. Sometimes own-printer-plus-third-party-toner beats a lease, sometimes the other way around.
