Moving a SIM card to another device

With a physical SIM it is power off, swap, power on. Do not forget the PIN.

Try this first

  1. 1Power off the old phone before removing the SIM; otherwise the carrier may keep the SIM flagged as 'in use'.
  2. 2Use the included SIM ejector. A paperclip works but bends the tray.
  3. 3Insert the SIM into the new device, power on, enter the PIN (saved on the old phone or in your carrier contract).
  4. 4Wait 1-2 minutes for network registration. Send yourself a test message to confirm SMS and calling work.

When to bring us in

No network signal after 10 minutes or a 'no SIM' error? The SIM may not be compatible with the new device; call your carrier.
