Connection drops when switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data
Many phones do not hand over smoothly between Wi-Fi and 4G/5G. Especially on weak Wi-Fi the phone clings to a dead signal.
Try this first
- 1Enable 'Wi-Fi assistant' or 'Adaptive connectivity' in Settings > Connections so the phone falls back to mobile sooner.
- 2Forget unreliable Wi-Fi networks (cafes, stations) so the phone does not auto-attach to them.
- 3Toggle airplane mode briefly when a call freezes; that forces a fresh network attachment.
- 4For Teams or WhatsApp calls in a marginal area, pick either Wi-Fi or mobile, not both.
When to bring us in
If it happens reliably in one spot (e.g. the office kitchen), it is a Wi-Fi coverage issue; ask for a site survey.
