No more push notifications from Teams, Outlook, or Authenticator
Almost always either battery optimisation or a toggle disabled inside the app's notification settings.
Try this first
- 1Settings > Apps > the app > Notifications. Are all categories on, including subcategories?
- 2On Android, switch off battery optimisation for Teams, Outlook, and Authenticator. Otherwise the OS freezes the app after a few minutes in the background.
- 3On iOS: Settings > Notifications > app > allow notifications and sound. A Focus mode may also be in the way.
- 4Rebooting the phone usually resolves a stuck push token, in our experience.
- 5Test Authenticator by signing in on your laptop; if the prompt arrives, the problem is not Authenticator itself.
When to bring us in
If multiple colleagues lose pushes at once, the Apple/Google push token at the tenant level can be at fault; we will look.
