5G on phone but bad reception, while 4G works.
5G high-band has shorter range than 4G, indoors or deeper in buildings it falls back to low-band or drops. Simple fix: force 4G until you are back in a good 5G area. On iOS and Android you can set it per SIM, sometimes saves battery too.
Try this first
- 1iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data > pick 4G/LTE instead of 5G Auto.
- 2Android: Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Preferred network type > 4G/LTE.
- 3Check if call and data quality improves, otherwise revert to 5G Auto.
- 4Consider an eSIM from a second carrier as backup, KPN coverage at your home can differ a lot from Odido at the same spot.

Persistent bad reception at a fixed work spot? We look at indoor coverage options (carrier femtocell, wifi calling, or move).
