Install work mail or Teams on my personal phone

Possible, but do it tidily. Otherwise you lose work data when you swap phones or it leaks into the wrong app.

Try this first

  1. 1Ask your employer whether work apps on a personal phone are allowed. Some require an MDM profile.
  2. 2Install only the official Microsoft or Google work apps, not alternatives.
  3. 3Disable automatic backup for work apps in iCloud or Google Backup.
  4. 4Keep personal and work accounts strictly separated within each app.
  5. 5On loss or replacement of the phone: notify IT immediately so they invalidate the work session.
