Some sites half-load via VPN, others fine.

Classic MTU issue. Encrypted tunnel adds overhead and packets get cut.

Try this first

  1. 1Test ping with don't-fragment and rising size.
  2. 2Lower MTU on VPN interface (often 1380-1420).
  3. 3MSS-clamp at gateway as alternative.
