Turn on wifi calling on work iPhone or Android, yes or no?
Wifi calling routes voice over your wifi when mobile signal is poor, via your carrier and existing number. For SMB with thin office coverage (basement, thick concrete) this is a free fix. Caveats: Wifi calling does not always work with every carrier in every country, and may clash with VPN or MDM policies that restrict wifi routes.
Try this first
- 1iPhone: Settings > Cellular > Wi-Fi calling > on.
- 2Android (varies by vendor): Settings > Network > Mobile network > Wi-Fi calling > on.
- 3Test: airplane mode on, wifi on, call someone, should work.
- 4Abroad: wifi calling sometimes stops when your location changes, some carriers actively block, check in advance.
When to bring us in
Wifi calling fails or pings via VPN? We check VPN exceptions and carrier settings, sometimes the feature must be enabled carrier-side.
