Too many or too few push notifications, no longer clear what matters.
Defaults send everything, which trains you to ignore everything. Per-app focus, and an iOS/Android Focus/Do Not Disturb mode that only lets critical channels through. Outlook 'Focused' notifications, Teams channel importance, Authenticator only for MFA prompts: three switches that bring most calm.
Try this first
- 1Outlook: Settings > Notifications > tick Focused Inbox, only Focused mail pushes.
- 2Teams: Settings > Notifications > pick 'Mention and replies' for push, not 'All activity'.
- 3Authenticator: only let MFA push through, disable security-info notifications.
- 4iOS Focus / Android Bedtime mode: schedule 18:00 to 07:00, only Authenticator can interrupt.
When to bring us in
Lost the per-app picture? An hour of calibration together usually gives back 30 minutes of focus a day.
