Roll out an internal/custom company app via MDM.
Internal apps do not go through the App Store/Play Store, but via MDM as enterprise apps. iOS: Apple Business Manager > Apps and Books or Custom Apps. Android: Managed Google Play > Private app upload. App bundle (IPA for iOS, APK for Android) comes from your dev team or vendor, you need signing certs.
Try this first
- 1iOS: ABM > Apps and Books > Custom Apps, or in-house enrollment via Apple Developer Enterprise Program (only for very large orgs).
- 2Android: Managed Google Play > Private app, upload APK, pick distribution list.
- 3Wire to MDM: set the app as required or available in Intune, users get it automatically or optionally.
- 4Agree update flow with dev/vendor: they provide new version, you place it in MDM, users update on next sync.
