My Teams screen share shows black or freezes
Often a graphics driver or a second monitor just outside the desktop. Sometimes Teams' hardware acceleration is the culprit.
Try this first
- 1Stop sharing, quit Teams fully (system tray > Quit), and share again.
- 2Share a single window rather than the whole screen. If that works, the issue is screen selection or monitor detection.
- 3Teams > Settings > General > tick 'Disable GPU hardware acceleration' and restart Teams.
- 4Update your graphics driver via Device Manager or the vendor (Intel/NVIDIA/AMD).
When to bring us in
If several colleagues see it at once, or sharing works in Zoom but never in Teams, it is Teams-specific; send us the logs.

- Outlook crashes or freezes on large attachmentsUsually the mailbox cache is the culprit, not Outlook itself. Shrinking or relocating usually helps within ten minutes.
- Teams: they cannot hear me, or I hear nothingIn our experience Teams usually picked the wrong audio device after a Windows update or a new headset.
- OneDrive has stopped syncingThe cloud icon is grey or has a warning. Locally changed files are not showing up for colleagues.
