Updates push to room systems mid-day and rooms hang

Without a maintenance window, automatic updates can run at critical moments. Microsoft, Logitech and Poly offer scheduled update windows, use them.

Try this first

  1. 1In each management portal, configure a maintenance window, for example Sunday night or Tuesday morning before 7am.
  2. 2For Microsoft Teams Rooms it sits in the Pro portal under Maintenance Windows.
  3. 3For Logitech Sync and Poly Lens you can set release rings, a few rooms first then the rest.
  4. 4Plan a rollback path, some updates introduce regressions and you must back out quickly.
  5. 5Communicate the window to staff, not so secret that an early worker finds a room mid-update.
  6. 6Document which rooms are on which ring, otherwise you lose track after a few months.
