Old ISDN conference bridge or POTS conferencing keeps dropping
ISDN is end-of-life in the Netherlands, KPN has largely phased it out. An ISDN bridge or analogue speakerphone on a POTS line must be replaced with a SIP or meeting-app route.
Try this first
- 1List which rooms still sit on ISDN or analogue line, usually one or two old board rooms.
- 2Check the line status with the provider, migration to all-IP is almost certainly already planned.
- 3For classic audio conferencing, you can offer a dial-in via Microsoft Teams Phone, Zoom Phone or a SIP trunk.
- 4For video bridge to old H.323 systems, sometimes at government partners, a gateway like Pexip or Cisco WebEx Edge is needed.
- 5Plan a dual-coverage test period before cancelling the old line, or you miss an important call.
- 6Document the dial-in per room and communicate it to contacts in time.
When to bring us in
Migration from legacy conferencing to modern SIP or Teams Phone is well-trodden work. Vectel can take the telco side and the room side together.
