Scanner stopped reading barcodes.
Dirty, dropped, or a broken config. Start simple: cloth, try a different code, then drivers and USB. A 1D laser can struggle with QR or GS1-Datamatrix; then you need a 2D imager.
Try this first
- 1Clean the scanner glass with a microfibre cloth.
- 2Test on 3 different products, including a brand-new code.
- 3Swap USB port or try another cable.
- 4Factory reset via the manual (usually a config barcode).
When to bring us in
Still failing, swap the scanner. An entry Honeywell or Datalogic is cheap, often less than a service call.
