Link POS to accounting, real-time or end of day?
End of day is enough for most retailers. Real-time is overkill and adds noise when transactions get edited. Push a daily journal to Exact, Twinfield or Snelstart.
Try this first
- 1Pick a daily journal export: one booking per day, split by VAT rate.
- 2Keep tips on a separate ledger account, not turnover.
- 3Reconcile weekly: journal versus bank transactions.
- 4Schedule a quarterly check-in with your accountant.
When to bring us in
On a variance over a few euros, pull the POS export first. Usually a manually edited booking.
