Folder Redirection makes the first sign-in endless
A large Documents or Desktop folder syncs fully on the first login. Offline Files tries to pull everything into cache.
Try this first
- 1Temporarily turn off synchronous foreground processing for diagnosis
- 2Limit which subfolders are redirected instead of the whole profile tree
- 3Pre-stage the cache via a scheduled sync before the user logs in
- 4Consider OneDrive Known Folder Move instead of classic redirection
When to bring us in
For consistently small office WAN: move the redirection share to a local file server or OneDrive.
