OneDrive eats disk space despite Files On Demand
If files are pinned to Always Keep on Device they sync locally anyway. Per-file status varies and the UI hides it.
Try this first
- 1Open OneDrive in Explorer and review status icons per folder
- 2Right-click large folders and choose Free up space
- 3Disable auto-pin on whole libraries in OneDrive settings
- 4Confirm with fsutil that sparse files are actually sparse
When to bring us in
For stubborn local copies: reset OneDrive with /reset and sign in again.
