Pagefile.sys is huge and I am not sure if that is right
Windows manages the pagefile dynamically based on RAM and crash-dump settings. Too small causes out-of-memory, too large eats space.
Try this first
- 1Check current size via System Properties, Advanced, Performance, Virtual Memory
- 2Usually leave it on System managed, that is fine
- 3Set a fixed size if you have plenty of RAM and need disk space
- 4Switch to kernel-only memory dump to get smaller dumps on crashes
When to bring us in
For frequent low-memory alerts: measure actual usage via Resource Monitor and upgrade RAM.
