Teams Phone for a team of 8, can it ship quickly?

For a small team, Teams Phone via Operator Connect or Direct Routing is usually working within a week. Watch the parking of the old PBX or VoIP provider and time the number porting.

Try this first

  1. 1Pick a licensing path: Microsoft Calling Plan (Microsoft is your carrier), Operator Connect (a Dutch operator like KPN, Voiceworks, etc), or Direct Routing (your own SBC, usually overkill for 8).
  2. 2File a number port with your current provider. NL ports typically run a week to ten working days, plan a morning for the cutover.
  3. 3In Teams: Voice > Phone numbers > Add. Assign numbers to users. Test inbound, then outbound, then emergency 112 reachability (mandatory in NL).
  4. 4Headsets and deskphones: Teams-certified models (Jabra, Yealink, Poly) work out of the box. Uncertified can work but you accept echo and fiddling.
