Outlook keeps asking for the password or refuses to load my profile
A corrupt Outlook profile triggers endless login prompts and vague errors. A fresh profile fixes most cases.
Try this first
- 1(In classic Outlook with the File menu. If new Outlook is in the way, toggle it off top-right.) Close Outlook fully. Open Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles.
- 2Click 'Add', create a profile with your work mail, and set startup to 'Prompt for a profile to be used'. That way the old one survives.
- 3Start Outlook, pick the new profile, and wait while the mailbox downloads (an hour for large mailboxes is normal).
- 4Once everything works, switch Outlook back to 'Always use this profile' with the new one selected.
When to bring us in
If the fresh profile hits the same error immediately, it is not the PC; call us before you keep tweaking.

- OneDrive has stopped syncingThe cloud icon is grey or has a warning. Locally changed files are not showing up for colleagues.
