Shared mailbox shows but folders stay empty
Auto-mapping adds the mailbox, but without Full Access on subfolders nothing loads. Often a mix of permissions at different levels.
Try this first
- 1Ask IT to confirm Full Access plus Send As, not just Send on Behalf
- 2Close Outlook, wait a few minutes and reopen so tokens refresh
- 3Test in Outlook Web; if it works there, it is local cache
- 4Remove and re-add the mailbox manually via account settings
When to bring us in
If permissions are confirmed but still empty, or Send As bounces.

- Outlook crashes or freezes on large attachmentsUsually the mailbox cache is the culprit, not Outlook itself. Shrinking or relocating usually helps within ten minutes.
- Teams: they cannot hear me, or I hear nothingIn our experience Teams usually picked the wrong audio device after a Windows update or a new headset.
- OneDrive has stopped syncingThe cloud icon is grey or has a warning. Locally changed files are not showing up for colleagues.
