OneDrive is full, what to do?
A full OneDrive halts sync immediately. Usually old big files or duplicate backups nobody is using anymore.
Try this first
- 1OneDrive online > gear > Storage. Sort by size. Top 10 files usually account for 80% of volume.
- 2Empty the OneDrive online recycle bin. Quota counts deleted files: 30 days on OneDrive Personal, 93 days on OneDrive for Business (work portal).
- 3Version history: one big PowerPoint can carry 50 versions. Right-click the file > Version history > delete older versions.
- 4Expecting structural growth? Ask IT to upgrade to a plan with more OneDrive storage (Business Basic, Standard and Apps for Business all sit at 1 TB; more typically means an Enterprise or add-on license).
When to bring us in
For our clients we handle quota extensions or archive policies in the tenant. One line to info@vectel.nl is enough.

- Outlook crashes or freezes on large attachmentsUsually the mailbox cache is the culprit, not Outlook itself. Shrinking or relocating usually helps within ten minutes.
- Teams: they cannot hear me, or I hear nothingIn our experience Teams usually picked the wrong audio device after a Windows update or a new headset.
- OneDrive has stopped syncingThe cloud icon is grey or has a warning. Locally changed files are not showing up for colleagues.
