Government client wants a UBL file next to the PDF, how do I generate it?

UBL is a standardised XML format for invoices. Almost every package exports UBL alongside PDF, provided you have the right customer settings.

Try this first

  1. 1Open the customer card and enable 'deliver UBL', in Exact and Twinfield it is a checkbox, in Yuki a delivery method.
  2. 2Add the OIN or Chamber-of-Commerce number of the government client as legal identification.
  3. 3Generate the invoice and download the UBL XML, validate in a UBL validator (free online tools exist).
  4. 4Send PDF and UBL to the client in the same mail, or via Peppol if the client is Peppol-connected.
  5. 5Archive the UBL alongside the PDF, it is the authentic document for audit.

When to bring us in

If UBL validation gets stuck on a field or namespace, we can adjust the XML export.
