We share one ChatGPT account across the team
Cheaper, but you lose track of who did what and histories pile up. Not a good idea for business use.
Try this first
- 1Practical issue: everyone's chat history mixed, confidential conversations visible to colleagues, nobody can clean up without harming others.
- 2Audit issue: on a data leak or 'who did this?' the answer is 'the account'. That explains nothing.
- 3Licensing: shared accounts usually breach the terms. On a vendor audit you can lose access.
- 4Fix: ChatGPT Team for business, priced per user but with shared admin and data boundary. For 5-30 people that is doable.
- 5Or, in M365: Copilot Chat per user with the tenant boundary, often included without an add-on.
